A fixed-setting suspension behaves the same on rough ground as on asphalt — and is best on neither. Intelligent suspension changes damping to suit the conditions.
Sensors continuously read wheel movement, body attitude, speed and load. The control unit adjusts damper settings, and ride height where fitted, in real time — softening on broken ground, firming up at speed.
The real benefit is not comfort but control: keeping the wheel in contact with the ground directly affects traction and braking distance. Reduced vibration load on the body and its mounted equipment also cuts electronic and wiring failures — a large share of the connector and crimp fatigue we see in the field is vibration-driven.
The system is sized for the vehicle type, axle layout and duty profile. Retrofitting to existing vehicles is possible; in that case the current suspension geometry and load distribution are examined first. During commissioning, drive modes are tested and tuned in the field.
