A sensor is only worth having when its signal is read correctly. We connect sensors of different output types properly to the machine control system and obtain measurements that are not spoiled by noise.
Most measurement problems we see in the field come not from the sensor but from the connection: wrong shielding, signal cable run parallel to power, a common-ground error. In sensor selection we dwell on the wiring plan and supply architecture as much as on range and accuracy.
Connecting the sensor is half the job; making the data meaningful in the control system is the other half. We set up scaling, filtering, limit values and alarm definitions in software, and present them readably on the operator screen.
