SRV / FAULT DIAGNOSIS & REPAIR

Harness Fault Diagnosis & Repair

Most electrical faults hide inside the wiring harness and cannot be solved by swapping parts at random. We locate the fault at its source through schematic tracing, circuit measurement and connector inspection, then repair it to standard with original materials.

Fault intervention: circuit measurement over the schematic sheet; crimping equipment, heat-shrink tubing and spare terminals at hand.
01 / COMMON FAULT TYPES

The issues we see most often in harnesses

  • Crimp fatigue: Terminal connections whose resistance rises under vibration, causing intermittent contact.
  • Water ingress & corrosion: Oxidised pins in connectors with aged seals; signal degradation and leakage current.
  • Chafing: Insulation worn open where circuits rub against the chassis or each other — shorts and ground leakage.
  • Loose / backed-out pins: Terminals not fully seated in the connector losing contact under load.
  • Grounding problems: High-resistance grounds at painted or corroded chassis points — the number-one cause of "ghost" faults.
  • Poor previous repairs: Taped twist splices, wrong-gauge conductors and non-standard additions.
02 / DIAGNOSTIC PROCESS

How we find the fault

ADIM 01 / STEP 01Schematic tracing

Starting from the symptom, the relevant circuits are narrowed down on the schematic and measurement points planned.

ADIM 02 / STEP 02Circuit measurement

Continuity, resistance, voltage-drop and insulation measurements; testing under load and vibration where needed.

ADIM 03 / STEP 03Connector inspection

Checking pin seating, corrosion and seal condition; pull tests on suspect terminals.

ADIM 04 / STEP 04Root-cause report

Location, cause and recommended permanent fix documented in a photo report.

ADIM 05 / STEP 05Repair

Repair to standard with original terminals, connectors and heat-shrink; no temporary taped fixes.

ADIM 06 / STEP 06Verification

After repair the circuit is re-measured, verified with the machine running, and logged.

03 / SOLUTION & MAINTENANCE

Permanent fixes and preventive maintenance

Repair alone is not enough; the root cause is eliminated so the same fault does not recur — routing corrections, added protective conduit, proper clamping or connector renewal. Under a fleet-based periodic maintenance program, harnesses are reviewed at regular intervals; ageing seals and at-risk areas are renewed before they become unplanned downtime. We serve in the field or in our workshop.
