Diesel engines already put a great deal of data onto the communication bus. The problem is not producing data but putting it in front of the operator in a form they understand.
Data read from the engine control unit over J1939 comes through the standard PGN structure, so it is obtained the same way across most engine brands and gathered onto one screen.
Seeing "SPN 110 FMI 0" on screen tells an operator nothing. We translate fault codes into plain text: which system, what kind of problem and what to do. Critical warnings stand out by colour and sound; informational ones stay in the background.
The display can be designed into a new machine’s cab or retrofitted to existing machines whose instrumentation falls short. Screen size, IP rating and mounting position are chosen to suit the cab; camera images and machine control functions can be combined on the same screen if wanted.
